Even though I am not musically-gifted, I am a firm believer in using music to help get the creative juices flowing.
Therefore, developing a playlist to have on my iPod during the rehearsal period is essential for me.
Below, I've listed the number one song from each of those playlists below to share so you can give them a listen!
Hopefully, you'll learn a little more about me by doing so (and maybe hear some great new music!)

Charlotte's Web

Simple, sincere, heartfelt.
Just like Charlotte

The Misanthrope

Super sweet and quirky, just like Eliante. And the idea of "telling me everything by saying nothing" is a great description of her relationship with Philinte.

Optimism! Or Voltaire's Candide

The song tells a story of a fantastical, surreal adventure for the quest of lost love. That's Candide in a nutshell.

Ivanov

The image of waking up a soul that had gone to sleep was a huge inspiration for the entire concept for Ivanov.

The Tempest

Gonzala really just wanted to go home. And Fred from the TV series Angel was a big character inspiration (thus using a fanmade montage from the show!)

The Chemist

Love the image of an unravelling rope to mirror Cathy's gradual realization that everything she was devoting herself to was a lie.

The Battle of Spanktown

Listened to A LOT of 90s love songs for this production. It just always made me so happy.

King John

The feeling of indecision, the idea of doing something horribly wrong to make the world right again.

The Secret Rapture

This song has just become popular when I was rehearsing and always made me feel a little bit sexy when I listened to it, which was a big help for Rhonda.

Pericles

Pericles really was an epic Disney movie with some adult content and pirates. And Marina and Belle totally would have been best friends.

Extremities

I loved playing with the hidden layer to Marjorie that she was acting the way she acted because her friends couldn't believe a woman of her size and age would take on someone who had just tried to rape her. So she had to prove them wrong.

Neighborhood 3: Requistion of Doom

Creepy, sinister, violent...just like the video game the characters were fascinated with.

Angels in America: Perestroika

Yes, I know it's Snow Patrol. But the lyrics almost perfectly match what Harper is coping with.
